Let Your Love Shine…

As we enter the month of August, let your love shine as we walk through this month.

I think of our Heavenly Father as He showed us His love through the sending of His son the Lord Jesus into the world for those who were walking in darkness and not in the light. What a wonderful expression of love that was expressed by our Savior.

So, how do we focus on that this month? We look to our Heavenly Father and the Lord Jesus for guidance here. How did they express this love?

One of the highest ways to express this love to those who are in our life, is expressed in the commandment, love your neighbor as yourself. This is known in the Bible as the Royal Law.

So, how do we express this love [1 Co 13:4-8]:

• Love is patient,

• love is kind.

• It does not envy,

• it does not boast,

• it is not proud.

• It does not dishonor others,

• it is not self-seeking,

• it is not easily angered,

• it keeps no record of wrongs.

• Love does not delight in evil [harm of others]

• but rejoices with the truth.

• It always protects,

• always trusts,

• always hopes,

• always perseveres,

• Love never fails.

So, throughout the month of August, strive to walk in love toward your family members, colleagues at work, friends and neighbors in your life.
